We restored the plaster in two areas of the cottage.  This work was done over hand-split wood lath.
We also restored the stone chimney and the stone fireplace.  The chimney and the fireplace had both fallen into very bad condition and were in danger of being lost forever.
We don't normally do the chimney restoration work, but did so in this instance because of the historic nature of the building, and the wonderful people we were working for.  Another reason for doing the stonework is that complete stone fireplaces, including the hearth and chimneys, is fairly rare.  Usually there is some brick used in the construction, but that was not the case on this site.
All natural materials gathered from the site were used originally, and also in the restoration process.
